The call was to be there for 9:30am and Sandra and I were the first and accordingly booked our pitch but felt it wasn't big enough so the organisers extended it for us so we could put the telescopes out. Soon after we were joined by Paul and Elaine and Dave and Lesley, but Dave had gout! and was in extreme pain. To add to his misery the medication he was given made him vomit so they unloaded the kit they'd brought and went home. Not a good start.
The sky was fully clear to start but through the day clouded over till the end when it cleared again.
Our team was Sandra, Elaine and Paul, Rhys and Vic. We had plenty of visitors and many were of high standing, and seemed very interested in the subject.
The sun behaved and showed some prominences and lots of granulations and some flares, but only one sun spot. We had the usual gear, the PST, the 8" Celestron and the big binoculars, with Sandra's Know your Planets game. One two year old knew them all too!
Our usual fish shop man didn't turn up, but we went to his shop at the end and took fish and chips to Austerfield to eat there after unloading the gear.
